Developing Phantom Touch?

Does anyone have any advice to developing a sense of phantom touch? When I've listened to a file or worked with a hypnotist any time they want me to feel a specific physical sensation it doesn't work. Do people actually feel that stuff? Like a tactile hallucination. For me I'll react to certain things as if I'm feeling them, but there's not an actual sensation.

In any case I would be interested in hearing ways of developing a stronger sense of phantom touch, I have a lot of kinks that could only play out that way due to physical impossibilities/danger.
